Forestry England requires a contractor to undertake Rhododendron and scrub removal within the Wild Purbeck area of the South Forest District. Rhododendron is an invasive non-native species that suppresses native vegetation, reduces biodiversity, impacts woodland regeneration and can affect habitat condition. The works form part of Forestry England's land management and habitat restoration programme, supporting wider environmental objectives and improving the condition of woodland and open habitats.
