The Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC) requires the continued provision of certification services for the Northern Ireland Beef and Lamb Farm Quality Assurance Scheme (FQAS). FQAS plays a critical role in providing assurance regarding animal welfare, food safety and environmental standards and supports market access for Northern Ireland beef and lamb producers and processors. The scheme currently has approximately 11,422 active participants (as of 30/04/2026).
